UCT ONLINE APPLICATION 2022/2023
The University of Cape Town, UCT requests that prospective students submit their application for 2021 admissions as soon as possible before the closing date. To apply;

UNDERGRADUATE APPLICANTS
Applications for undergraduate study are open from 1 May until 31 August 2021. No late applications are possible.

National Benchmark Tests
Except for applicants to programmes in the Faculty of Engineering & the Built Environment, all undergraduate applicants who are normally resident in South Africa, or are doing their schooling in South Africa, must write the National Benchmark Tests (NBTs). If you wish to be considered for a conditional offer by the Faculty of Health Sciences, you must write the NBTs by 31 August 2021; if you write the NBTs after 31 August, you will only be considered for an offer in early 2023 after your final examination results are received. The final date to write the NBTs for admission to UCT is 2 October 2021.
Registration for the NBTs, which include the selection of a test mode, date and, where appropriate, a venue, must be completed online with the National Benchmark Test Project.
Financial Aid
South African undergraduate applicants for need-based funding must submit their applications online to the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).

UCT SEMESTER STUDY ABROAD (SSA) APPLICANTS
The SSA programme is offered to international students who are pursuing a degree elsewhere and plan to study abroad at UCT for a semester or two for the purposes of international credit mobility. Upon completion of the UCT semester course-load, the credits can be transferred to their degree at their home university. SSA credits do not count toward a UCT qualification.
SSA application cycle
First semester: UCT applications open in the first week of August and close on 31 October of the preceding year.
Second semester: applications open in the second week of January and close on 30 April of the same year.

- Applicants will need to pay R105 for online applications.
- Applicants applying via UCT for a TVET College can use a hardcopy application – the application fee for this is R160.
Submitting Results & Documents for UCT Application
When it comes to submitting your documents, you will need to ensure that your Grade 11 and the latest Grade 12 results are submitted. Failure to do this may result in delays with your application process. All the documents you attach will need to be certified copies of the originals.
