SARS eFiling is a free, online process for the submission of returns and declarations and other related services.
This free service allows taxpayers, tax practitioners and businesses to register free of charge and submit returns and declarations, make payments and perform a number of other interactions with SARS in a secure online environment.

Taxpayers registered for eFiling can engage with SARS online for the submission of returns and declarations and payments in respect of taxes, duties, levies and contributions.
Please note that the Help-You-eFile function is only available during SARS Contact Centre operating hours which are from 08:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday except on Wednesdays, when the contact centre is open from 09:00 to 16:30.
Help-You-eFile will make completing your individual Income Tax Return (ITR12) easier. You “share” your eFiling browser screen with our agent who will then talk you through the process, helping you address any difficulties you experience in completing your return. Simply follow these steps:
| Step 1: | Call the SARS Contact Centre on 0800 00 SARS (7277) and select option 5 for Help-You-eFile. |
| When prompted for your Session ID, enter the 5 digit number found on your toolbar above. | |

| A SARS agent will call you (call back will be enabled once you accept the terms and conditions). | |
| Step 2: | A pop-up message will now be displayed with your SARS agent’s name for you to confirm whether you would like the SARS agent to assist you. |
| Step 3: | Select ‘Yes’ to allow the agent to see your actions on the eFiling website and highlight areas on the page to help you resolve your query. |
